Faculty of Architecture Placement

As said before it, be understood that the faculty of Architecture at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has solid academic programs usually promising good placements serving to the overall reputation of the university in the industry. But various courses have different placement results; the B.Arch and M.Arch are two such programs that present contrasting placements.

Whereas B.Arch students are recruited by architecture firms, urban planners, construction companies, and real estate developers, only a few get to work under a freelance or independent label under architectural design or consultancy. These students have got internships/job placements through the placement cell, while others are received through campus interviews or industry tie-ups.

M.Arch students are attached to urban design, architectural consultancy, and government project firms. They take post-graduation courses more often than those who work in sustainable architectures or urban planning.

This is pretty good placement; however, at the end of the day, it would depend on how good a portfolio one has, what skills one possesses, and of course, the general state of jobs in the industry.

The placement scenario for the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) Program of the Faculty of Architecture, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), is relatively good. In the study of Architecture, placements essentially depend on the Portfolio, and the internships and the student’s individual work rather than a University developed placement. AKTU can offer some support, and has some industry connections, however, placements for M.Arch students is mostly self-driven and rely on individual efforts from students, portfolio strength, and/or networking. If the student is sufficiently ambitious and uplifted his/her portfolio, the chances of good placements improves quite a bit.
