The NIFT's Fashion Design program has played an influential role in the growth of the Indian fashion industry. In the 3 decades of its existence the graduates of the department have had remarkable presence in the Indian as well as global fashion scenarios. The curriculum hones a design sensitization that balances global fashion aesthetics with an Indian soul. It addresses the needs of the export market as well as both couture and pret-a-porter in India. The basic eligibility criteria of NIFT's B.Des Fashion Design course is 12th in any stream with upper age limit of 23 years for general category. The online registration of NIFT will be start in the month of October 4th week every year. The the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates
of the written examination.
