What's new at NIFT Chennai? NIFT has declared the Spot Round Seat Allotment results for the non-PwD category on July 30 for all UG and PG courses. Candidates could check the allotment status by logging into the portal with their credentials. With Spot Round, NIFT has concluded NIFT Counselling 2022, as of now, there are no further seat allotment rounds scheduled.
National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai offers BDes, BFTech, MFM and MFTech programmes in various specialisations across Design, Technology and Management streams. Apart from UG and PG programmes, the institute also offers a two-year UG Diploma and one-year PG Diploma course.
Admission to both UG ad PG programmes is based on a student's performance in NIFT Entrance Exam, which is divided into three sections, Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion (GD)and Personal Interview (PI) round. For UG admissions, the student must not exceed 24 years (29 years for SC/ ST/ PWD category students) of age as of August 1 of the year of admission.

NIFT Chennai offers UG and PG programmes and its admission process is conducted in online mode. Admission to all the UG and PG programmes is entrance-based. Candidates willing to take admission to NIFT Chennai are required to fill out an application form for the NIFT entrance exam on the official website of NIFT (www.nift.ac.in). To fill out the application form aspirants can follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Visit the official website of NIFT (www.nift.ac.in).
Step 2: Click on the admission tab and tap on the "Registration" from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Begin with the registration process by entering all the details, such as name, DOB, desired programme, etc in the given slots and click on "Submit".
Step 4: Proceed with the application form and upload the image of the scanned documents, signature and a recent passport size photograph.

Placements: Placement is fairly good. Almost 90% in accessory design. It depends on the student's caliber and portfolio rather than grades. Some of the courses struggle in placements but a good portfolio really helps. Companies are not very high paying initially. Maximum average packages are around 4.5 to 5 LPA.

NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if...NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities.
