The GLS DAT exam will be conducted in both online and offline modes. The candidate can select the preferred mode of exam at the time of filling out the online application form. 

When preparing for the exam, make sure that you carefully go through the detailed exam pattern and question paper structure.

Candidates are required to pay INR 2,000 as registration fee, Candidates can pay the fee through online mode or through Cash/Demand Draft or Cheque such that it is from a nationalised bank and is drawn in favour of “GLS Institute of Design” and is payable at Ahmedabad.

Note that the registration fee once paid will not be refunded.

GLS University, Ahmedabad is responsible for drafting the eligibility criteria for the GLS DAT 2024 exam.

No, there is no upper or lower age limit to appear for GLS DAT exam. So, candidates of any age group could apply provided they met the academic criteria prescribed by the institute.

GLS Institute of Design has not specified any syllabus for GLS DAT. However, some topics that aspirants should consider studying are Colour Terminology, Optical Illusion, Elements & Principles of Design, Picture Analysis, Drawing Fundamentals, Understanding Light & Shade etc.

The candidate needs to strictly follow the official exam pattern.

The IICD 2025 exam will be conducted in two parts - Part A and Part B.

  • Entrance Test (Part A): General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test (10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon)
  • Part B
    a. Material, Color & Conceptual Test (1:00 PM to 3:00 PM)
    b. Personal Interview (3:00 PM Onwards)

The M.Des program at The Indian Institute of Crafts and Design (IICD) offers the following specializations:

1. Hard Material Design
2. Soft Material Design
3. Fired Material Design
4. Fashion Clothing Design
5. Jewellery Design
6. Crafts Communication

Allotment of seats to above courses will be on the basis of IICD merit rank.

The participating institutes of IICD 2025 currently has an intake of 180 seats for the B.Des program. Admission to these seats will be strictly based on IICD 2025 merit rank.

The candidate can select their specialization at the time of counseling and seat allotment. Once a seat has been allocated, the candidate will have to pay the seat-acceptance fee to confirm it.

The scores of the IICD 2025 entrance exam will be considered for admission to the following courses: 4-year B.Des, 2-year M.Des, and 3-year M.Voc courses. Admission to these courses will be based on the IICD 2025 entrance exam scores. 

When filling out the application form, the candidate needs to ensure that he or she meets the prescribed eligibility critria. Note that those not meeting the prescribed criteria will be disqualified.

Yes, the candidate had to bring with them a few of their best works as samples that can be displayed at the time of the personal interview. Items that can be displayed incude - sketching, painting, embroidery, photography, etc. 

Note that candidates will be shortlisted for the portfolio round based on their performance in the written exam. 

Also, for preparing the final results, weightage will be given both to the written exam and the portfolio.
