Number of questions in NIFT General Ability Test (GAT) depends upon what course you are appearing in the examination for . All the papers in NIFT GAT are Computer based . 

• NIFT GAT examination for B.Des - 

1) Duration of the examination - two hours. (120 minutes).

2) Language of the examination - Bilingual (Hindi/English) . 

3) Number of questions - Hundred Questions.

1) Duration of the examination - two hours. (120 minutes). 

2) Language of the examination - Bilingual (Hindi/English) . 

3) Number of questions - One Hundred and Twenty Questions.

Nearly 70 percent of the students placed in B.Voc in  Interior Design or B.Voc in Fashion courses and 90 percent of the students get internship opportunities in both courses . The highest package for this course is 5 Lacs INR per annum. Both the courses have good packages with better roles. Many top branded and prestigious company direct visit the campus like Levi's,   Aditya birla group, coco-cola India, Puma, Jet airways, Dpice jet, Tommy hilfiger, Taj groups of hotel, Aviva, HDFC bank, ICIC bank, Goderj pvt ltd, Fortis healthcare, Vodafone and many more to recruit the students.

Apart from GAT, NIFT also tests its candidates with a Creative Ability Test (CAT ) to test their creative skills, concept observation skills and illustrations based drawings and designs. This exam is conducted through offline pen and paper mode. Candidates will be given 180 minutes (3 hours) for this colour and drawing based examination. 

A candidate not appearing in this examination, will not have access to situation test for B.Des or M.Des.

Acording to the latest notice by NIFT, the 2024 GAT examination for B.Des programme has a duration on two hours (120 minutes). 

The examination is conducted through offline mode. Candidates have to appear in the examination centres to give the examination. 

Maximum weightage of the examination is 100 marks. There are 100 questioned asked to the candidate with +1 awarded for each correct answer, followed by a negative of 0.25 for each wrong one and 0 for each unattempted one .

As we know that institute provides M.Sc in various courses at different branches of its. The courses fee may vary according but a roughly estimate is 2.10 Lacs annually for a year . However, it may depend on the courses.

Both the colleges are equally good . However the fees of M.Sc in JD is little bit higher than Aditya. The admission criteria is same in both the colleges . The placements opportunities are equal both the universities are tied up with big companies. The courses offered in M.Sc is also same in both the universities. So one can go for any university he / she may wish too .

JD Institute of Fashion Technology accepts scores of various entrance exams for admission to its courses. The institute accepts scores of the General Aptitude Test (GAT) for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate courses in fashion design, interior design, fashion communication, and fashion management. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to these courses is 10+2, and the final selection is based on GAT scores.
