No, you cannot get direct admission to fashion courses at Symbiosis College. The Symbiosis Institute of Design offers admissions to four B. Des courses which are as follows:'
1. Fashion Design
2. Fashion Communication
3. Industrial Design
4. Communication Design
To get admission into these courses, you will have to qualify for the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). It is an objective-type online exam conducted by Symbiosis for admission to fashion courses. Eligibility criterion of Bachelor of Design: A candidate must pass Senior Secondary 10+2 from any stream with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Admission to Bachelor of Design courses shall be based upon merit in the qualifying examination. Yes, you can become a fashion designer without taking the NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) exam. It is not the end of the world if you cannot crack the National Institute of Fashion Technology. You may get admission to any other institute to complete the course and become a designer. The Kashmir University entrance exam carries a weightage of 60%, and merit has a weightage of 40%. The entrance exam is for 60 marks. The final selection of a candidate is based on combined marks of the entrance test and aggregate of merit marks, which is reduced to the base of 40.
