Following qualifications are eligible for consideration for admission to PhD in fashion technology programme:
Post-graduation degree in the relevant area of design, management or technology (or) equivalent qualification from an institute/ university of national/ international repute with minimum 7 years of education after secondary (Class X) last of which was the Master's degree, where Master's Degree is found to be not relevant to the area of Research, a minimum 10 years of professional experience (teaching /working) in the proposed area of research is required.
A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.0 on a 10 point scale (5.5 for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent as determined by the institute wherever letter grades are awarded; or 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) where marks are awarded in the Post-Graduation degree.
The area of research of the applicant has to be relevant to the field of fashion in terms of design, technology and management.

Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole is a private university that operates from Jaipur. It began its journey from a small place as a college in 1993 and went on to become a university in the year 2009, merely sixteen years later, on campus spread across 100 acres. Its primary focus is on agri-based courses but then a university can flourish if it offers as wide a bouquet of courses as it can and hence has ended up with many streams of study including design.On the other hand, Amity University-Jaipur can into being in 2008 on almost 150 acre campus. The Amity as a name is very well known across India. It offers credit-based courses that give wide choice to the students in selecting courses. It too offers a wide bouquet of courses. To conclude, it's difficult to say which one is better than other in design! Though Amity has been declared as the best private university of Rajasthan, it's neither here nor there since it does not throw any light relative merits of their design courses. I feel that both are on the same level and a student should select the one which is most convenient to him/her.

The advice I am giving you is not specific to any particular test. Aptitude test is something which tests your logical thinking and ability to solve the problems. So to be confident for any upcoming aptitude test, solve as many previous years question papers as you can. This will keep you in touch of the level of the test you are going to appear for. Try to restrict yourself in the same timing as of the entrance exam. Analysis your weak points and work on them. Don't try your hand on new concepts. Build your confidence on your strong points. Be aware about the new brands being launched, brand ambassadors of the Apparel brands. As these are the last days don't try to overburden with new things. Try to do meditation, this will make you feel more relaxed.

Yes, it does involve extra expenses. On an average you'll be spending approximately 6-7000 on them. But they do add to your portfolio and are totally worth it.nIn terms of package, you can expect a min of 23-25000 INR pm in hand.nYou do have a lot of spare time during the course. So, you can always utilize them to earn few extra bucks.nIf you are very much interested in design and strongly want to pursue it as your profession, Ill say yes. But if you are not sure about it, don't take it forward. Design is too much of hard work and extensive research and getting practical as well as balancing the artsy side.
