Yes, on the whole, as a student of PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics), you would be qualified to study B.Tech Fisheries Engineering, at the College of Fisheries engineering. To get into engineering programs most institutions demand a great background in such core science subjects. Speaking of Physical Education being an extra subject, it most of the time does not obstruct your eligibility unless you fail to score the precise percentage or enterence test score in the case of PCM.

BFSc in KUFOS is considered as top course because it is one of the three fisheries University which is specialised in fisheries science.

Kerala is coastal state so exposure is very good from KUFOS for students.

Students can go outside and see the live practices whatever they studied.

Hence BFSc is considered as top course at KUFOS.

Having 140 marks in ICAR AIEEA, your admission in the B.F.Sc. programme at KUFOS, Kochi, depends on the cutoff for the particular year and category. ICAR AIEEA marks are considered for UG admissions, but from 2023, CUET scores will be used majorly for UG admissions. Apart from this, candidates are required to have the eligibility criterion of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 with PCB/PCM subjects. Admission also incorporates merit rank-based counseling. Your score, depending on the cutoff and reservation regulations, can give you a chance to get admission in the program.

The median salary package for B.F.Sc. students in Fisheries Science at Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), Kochi, is INR 2.89 Lacs annually. This indicates the potential in fisheries management, aquaculture, and allied industries. Although the placement rate is fairly low at 22.22%, most students opt for higher studies or research work, which improves career opportunities. The university has a committed placement cell that conducts training and counseling for enhancing employability, with industry associations like the Department of Fisheries, Kerala, and private aquaculture companies for recruitment.
