A food technologist work for the new method development for the food manufacturing and preserving for keeping the food safe and hygienic and enhance the color, flavor and resistance from the natural harms like microorganism and toxins. B.Sc. Food Technology at LPU is an Engineering programme which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place. Students will develop competence in areas like Food Process Engineering, Crop Processing Technology, Food Analysis and regulations, Plant and Animal biotechnology. The food supply chain consists of 4 players: Farmers, food processing industries, transportation & storage, and consumers. Among these food technology graduates are required in the food processing industries and transportation & storage. In the food industry, food technology graduates can work in areas like quality control, food production, product or process development, packaging, storage, sanitation, etc. The demand for food technology graduates is quite high as a specialised professional is required in almost every stage in the food processing industry. They are also required to maintain the proper standards in the food industry and to work according to the law because a single mistake in the food industry can be a threat to mankind. For getting admission into an engineering graduation degree you need to appear for and clear the appropriate entrance test. What I mean is that this the test that has been prescribed by the state in which you live. If you are in Maharashtra then you need to clear MHT CET. For admissions in engineering courses in this area in NIT's or IIT's and centrally funded institutes you need to clear JEE Mains and advanced. In addition to this if you are interested in seeking admission in deemed to be universities who have Pan India presence you need to appear for the entrance exam conducted by this universities also. Hello Shrutee Ghume, for doing your graduation in engineering in the field of Food Technology you need to clear the entrance exam prescribed by your state if you are interested in taking admission in the colleges in your state or JEE Mains or JEE Advanced for admission in NIT for IIT. For the courses in food technology biology is not compulsory even though it is preferable to have one.
