As such there is no specific qualification
required for doing B.Tech. food technology.
One should have passed 10+2 board examination
with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/biology subjects. A minimum of 50% marks in necessary to apply for this course.The percentage criteria could vary from
college to college.
You need to check all the major universities and engineering colleges.
Many institutes conduct entrance exams for selection of candidates in to this course. Based on your score in the entrance exams you can apply for this course in reputed colleges.

Eligibility criteria depends on the university. In many Universities including Amity Institute of Food Technology, Eligibility requirement is PCM ( PCB permitted at Amity) with minimum of 60% aggregate for Non sponsored & 55% for Sponsored category. At National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, subject combinations in the qualifying examination shall be Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Bio-technology. Candidates must secure atleast 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects. Besides the candidate must have appeared in JEE (Main).

Hello ,Placement of any department depends upon the college. If you are studying in a branded college like IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani, Jadavpur university then department turns out to be crucial regarding packages offered. Except CSE and IT no department has done wonders on placement considering the whole batch. Placement solely depends upon a candidate and placement options are available in good colleges only.
