The UG Game Design and Development at ICAT is a full-time program. It is perfectly-balanced curriculum of Game Art, Design and Development helps students in seeking a vast career, be it as 3D Game Artist, Level Designer or Plugin/Tool Developer.
Eligibility for B.Sc: Students seeking admission in ICAT for B.Sc program should have an educational level equivalent to a pass in high school (10 + 2 years of schooling). This includes those who have completed 3 years of Diploma from a recognized University or Government after completing 10th Std.

People might talk all about passion and hard-work, but some other things that matter are getting real. Other answers have advice on what language to learn or what book to read, but I will give you some real world advice.
There are three most common pathways to enter the game industry: as a programmer, as an artist, or as a tester. I wouldn't really recommend the third route.

Dear Abhinav,
Game designers are specialized software developers who visualize, plan and help design the creation of video and computer games. Game designing involves defining the structure for the game, its layout, setting, how the game would flow, and all constituent elements such as characters, vehicles, the interface and the modes how the elements would work in the game. Yes it would involve theory to be learnt, but that's a fact with all design courses. Theory always give base to your thoughts which you replicate in your designs.

Yes, you can do your degree after your Diploma, but you need to pass 10 +2 to enter graduation study which you can't do on diploma certificate at least not in Karnataka.

Yes, sure you can.
Career Requirements. While some employers require a Bachelor's degree in video game design or computer Science, a high school Diploma is the minimum requirement. You may need to have experience working in computer Science, programming, or art. Most developers have a higher education qualification, such as degree or HND. To get on a relevant degree you need five GCSEs grade C or above including Maths, English and a Science subject, plus at least two A levels. Relevant A levels include Maths, physics, computing and technology.
