The GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) portal is an official platform for GATE 2026 aspirants. It is where you register, fill out the application form, make edits in the form, download admit card, raise objections to the answer key, and check results. To create a GOAPS portal, candidates need to provide their active e-mail ID and password. So, it is advised to keep those credentials safe for future purpose.

The GATE 2026 hall ticket link will be activated at the GOAPS portalon January 2, 2026. Candidates can download their admit card using their enrollment ID and password. The GATE admit card 2026 will comprise details regarding the exam and candidate, such as GATE paper, exam date and timings, candidate's name, exam centre address, instructions, etc.

  • GATE application fees are revised.
  • New sectional paper (Energy Science- XE-I) introduced under Engineering Sciences.

The fee to add secondary paper is INR 500. The accepted payment modes are credit card, debit card, net banking, and UPI. Candidates are advised to keep a receipt of the payment successful for future purposes.

To add a secondary paper in the GATE application form, follow the steps below -

  • Log in to the GATE 2026 GOAPS portal during the correction period. (The form correction window usually opens for three days after the registration process)
  • Select "add secondary paper" option and choose the desired paper and pay the additional fee.
  • Ensure that your primary and secondary paper are from the approved combinations prescribed by the authorities.

Yes, of course, the selection of the GATE exam centre completely depends on the candidate's convinience and interest. They can choose any exam centre across India, regardless their college or hometown.

NOTE: A candidate can choose 3 cities from the list given above. All the three choices must be from the same GATE 2026 zone.

The GATE enrollment ID is a unique identification number that is used for accessing the GATE GOAPS portal. The enrollment ID will be sent to your registered mobile number/email ID and is also visible on GATE dashboard.
