GATE Registration

The GATE enrollment ID serves as a unique number that identifies each applicant. It is generated after successful GATE registration. The GATE enrollment ID is used for login purposes at the GOAPS portal. With the help of the enrollment ID, candidates can fill, download their admit card, check their resullt, and download their GATE scorecard. 

To retrieve the GATE enrollment ID, candidates need to have their registered email ID and password. The steps to retrieve the GATE enrollment ID are as follows -

• Visit the GATE's 2026 official website
• Go to the GOAPS portal and select "Forgot enrollment ID"
• Enter your mobile number and ID
• OTP will be sent to your registered number
• Confirm the OTP and retrieve your enrollment ID.

Yes, you can change your secondary paper after submitting the GATE form 2026. However, this facility will be available only during the correction process. The GATE application form correction window will be activated after the completion of the registration process. As per the official notification, the last date to make changes is November 6, 2025.

To retrieve the GATE user ID and password, candidates can follow the steps below -

• Visit the official website and click on the application form link
• Select forgot credentials option
• Enter enrollment ID/email address and mobile number
• The details will be sent to your registered number. 
• Lastly, retrieve the GATE user ID and password. 

The ideal GATE password length must be around 8 to 15 characters. 

Once the application form is submitted, the printed GATE application form 2026 will consist of the following details -

• Applicant's details - (zone, enrollment ID number, name, date of birth, gender, category, contact number, etc.)
• Communication address
• GATE exam details - (GATE paper code and exam city options)
• Educational qualification details 
• Payment details
• Zonal GATE office contact
• e-signature and digital fingerprint

The GATE application form payment must be completed online only at the GOAPS portal. The accepted payment modes for the GATE application form are-

• netbanking
• debit card
• credit card
• wallet and UPI

Candidates must ensure that their E-com transaction facility is enabled for their credit/debit card before proceeding to pay. 

IIT Guwahati has started the GATE 2026 registration process on August 28. The application form facility is open at the GOAPS portal. The deadline has been revised. As per the latest update, candidates who want to apply for GATE can check the dates and submit as per their convenience. The last date to submit the application form without late fees is October 6 (revised) and till October 9 with late fees. 

Yes, but within the timeline mentioned by the GATE authorities. IIT Guwahati has started the registration process for GATE 2026. The authorities provide two timelines to submit the application form: with late fees and without late fees. So, incase, you have missed out the date to submit, you can still submit the form during the extended period. Candidates can check the GATE 2026 datesheet below -
