GATE Registration

A caste certificate in the regional language is not acceptable. In that case, what you can do is convert it into English language by the authority (where you got it issued). After getting it converted, scan it properly and upload it in PDF format while filling the GATE application form. 

Candidates need to upload following documents if they are in 3rd year -

• Scanned photo 
• Signature
• Valid photo ID proof
• Category certificate (optional)
• PwD or Dyslexic certificate (optional)

If you've changed the name recently but your marksheet has the old name, then you can submit an affidavit for the same. Also, one must provide a valid reason for it. You can also contact your GATE zone helpcentre to assist. 

You can also contact your respective board and submit an application request for a name change along with the required documents. Once the board approves, a new board marksheet will be issued to you. 

Candidates must upload scanned signature while filling GATE application form. The properties are as follows-

Candidates can add a new paper in GATE 2026 form by logging to their credentials at GOAPS portal.  Select add paper and pay additional fee to submit. They can further change their paper during correction facility.

With the help of GATE application status, candidates can track their registration form, whether it is accepted or is under scrutiny. Applicants can get details regarding their application status, following process below -

• Visit GATE offiicial website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
• Then click on application form link
• Enter enrollment ID and password
• The status will be displayed on screen
• Check and logout

GATE enrollment ID is different for each candidate. The identification number is generated after registration. Candidates can use enrollment ID to login and accesss at GOAPS portal. It must be kept safe to perform all GATE-related activities.

To retrieve GATE enrollment ID, candidates must keep their mobile number and email ID. The process can be checked below-

• Go to gate2026.iitg.ac.in
• Click on "forgot enrollment ID"
• Give OTP that is received on your mobile number
• Confirm, submit and retrieve enrollment ID

Yes, candidates can change their secondary paper at the time of GATE 2026 application form correction. The facility is available at the GOAPS portal. The last date to submit changes is November 10. The fee to change GATE secondary paper is INR 500. The accepted payment mode include debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI.
