Yes, IISc Bangalore, the organizing institute of GATE 2024 has introduced a new subject - Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA). GATE exam is conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (M.Tech) and direct Ph.D. admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other institutes or universities across India. It also opens the gateway to PSUs and the field of research. The exam is jointly conducted by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, and the Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore) on a rotational basis on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB GATE Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering are one of the two new papers introduced in GATE and it comprises five sections namely Engineering Mathematics, Applied Mechanics and Structures, Fluid Mechanics and Marine Hydrodynamics, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Thermodynamics and Marine Engineering.
