GATE is accepted for All M.Tech and Ph.D. courses at the Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology and other private or government engineering colleges. NATA is for Architecture B.Arch courses that are accepted across private architecture and government architecture colleges. Preparation tips for the GATE exam for the ECE branch.
1- Attend lectures regularly.
2- Create short notes per subject.
3- Revise notes after finishing the subject.
4- Solve all Previous Year's Papers.
5- Practice Engineering Maths and General Aptitude Regularly.
6- Finish the complete syllabus by October.
7- Start solving Full Test from November.
8- Identify weak topics and clear your doubts.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Syllabus For Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) consists of 8 main sections. They are Networks, Engineering Mathematics, Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits, Signals and Systems, Electronic Devices (ECD), Control Systems, Communications, and Electromagnetic (Electromagnetic field theory). GATE is a national-level exam conducted every year for admission to PG programs or recruitment in the PSUs. Across India, the GATE is conducted in 8 zones and organized by IISc and 7 IITs.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering exam is definitely tougher than Joint Entrance Examination (Advance or Mains) exams. The level of concepts and questions tested in the Joint Entrance Examination papers are 11th and 12th whereas, in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering exam, undergraduate subject knowledge along with the General Aptitude and reasoning of the student is tested. It depends on your objectives. Comparing them would not be fair because they are both distinct tests with distinct fields. While GATE is centered on an in-depth understanding of technical disciplines, CAT is founded on a solid foundation of mathematics, English and analytical skills. GATE is a pathway to an MBA, whereas CAT is for an M.Tech.
