Sure you can use GATE DA (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) score to become eligible to M.Tech AI or similar streams. Most of the prestigious schools such as IIT Hyderabad, IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi (Machine Intelligence and Data Science) and IIIT Bangalore (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) clearly take into account GATE DA scores in the admission process. Your GATE score is very important but in the end a combination of your score/academic background and a written test/interview is done to make the final selection. Additional second paper fee in GATE exam would be based on your category and would be equal to single paper fee (i.e. you have to pay each paper separately):

General/ OBC and other unreserved students: 1800 Rs per paper i.e. 2 papers add to 3600Rs.

Candidates who belong to Female/SC/ST/PwD: The fee per paper is 900, which means that they need to pay the total amount of 1,800 (two papers).

Should the member already have registered one paper and wishes to have a second ( of valid combination), he will be required to pay the supplementary fee that matches with the single paper fee of his/her section

"Successfully submitted" in the GATE application status dashboard means that you have completed all the steps in the GATE 2026 registration process, including the payment. It also indicates that your application form has been received by the official authorities. However, it does not mean that your form is approved by the officials. It is still "under the scrutiny process."

Candidates are advised to visit the GOAPS portal regularly to check the updates on the GATE GOAPS portal once the form is activated.
