Yes, GATE 2026 application form correction window has started. The last date to edit is November 10 (extended). During the correction facility, candidates will be able to change a few particulars, such as exam city, category, exam centre, etc. This year, there is a hike of INR 100 for gender, category, and PwD change.

The last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees was October 13. For submission with late fees, the application form window  remained active from October 7 to October 13. The registration fee with late fees is as follows -

  • For female/SC/ST and PwD candidates, the fee is INR 1500
  • For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2500

The last date to register for GATE 2026 without late fees have been revised from September 28 to October 6. The GATE candidate login 2026 link is now activated for the application form process. Candidates who want to apply must visit the GATE's official website and register to receive an enrollment ID and password and apply within the mentioned dates.

Candidates can check GATE exam pattern and question distribution of the papers - AR, CY, DA, EY, GG, GE, MA, PH, ST, XH, and XL below -

  • General aptitude section carry 15 marks and subject mark consists questions of 85 marks
  • Total marks of GATE question paper - 100 marks
  • Mode of exam is online and time duration is 3 hours

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati conducted GATE 2026 exam. The exam dates along with branch-wise exam dates was released on official website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The entrance test was held in two shifts -

  • Forenoon - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Afternoon - 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

The GATE 2026 topper will be released after the declaration of result. The authorities will publish the topper's list (AIR 1 ) of all 30 subjects. 

Last year, Rahul Kumar Singh was the GATE CS topper scoring full marks in GATE 2025.

As per the official notification, there is nothing as such mentioned regarding the old or new SC/ST certificate. However, it is better to upload an updated caste certificate in PDF format. The document must be uploaded at the time of form filling process.

GATE normalisation process is done to provide fairness to all applicants who are appearing for examination. It is because GATE is conducted in multiple sessions. In such case, raw marks are converted into normalised marks using the formula.

No, GATE admit card in soft copy format will not be accepted at exam centre. Candidates appearing for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering must carry their hall ticket along with a valid ID proof and pen/pencil. The admit card must be printed on a A4 size paper with details visible clearly.

A compensatory time of 60 minutes is given to candidates who have opted for scribe facility in GATE exam. To avail this facility, candidates have to choose option while filling GATE form.
