GATE score is used by majority of PSUs for recruitment of graduate engineer / management trainees. Some of the PSUs career opportunities and salaries are similar to private sector. Therefore, you are required to score high in GATE to seek job in PSUs.

GATE is important to you if u are planning to do higher studies and go into academic path like being professor and all.many of the PSUs also recruit students on the basis of a valid GATE Score and interviews.so it is important from a good job point of view as well.
