For admission to the M.Tech Civil Engineering course the most prominent entrance exam is the GATE exam. There are approximately 326 colleges in India that give admission on the basis of the GATE exam score. You need to get excellent marks in the exam to get shortlisted for admission at popular colleges.
A few colleges accepting the GATE scores include the IITs, NITs, DTU, BITS Pilani, Jadavpur University, Thapar University, SOA University, College of Engineering Pune, and Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra).

For admissions to M.Tech courses at ACS College of Engineering, candidates are required to achieve a valid score in either GATE or K-PGCET. Therefore, candidates with the relevant scores in any of the following entrance exams can get admissions to the M.Tech course. There is no compulsion for GATE scores. However, GATE-qualified candidates are eligible for scholarships through AICTE.

As per the Institute of Technology, Nirma University M.Tech eligibility criteria, the selection of the candidates is based on the scores obtained in the accepted entrance exam. The institute shortlisted the candidates based on their performance in the GATE exam. Hence, it is essential for candidates to appear for the GATE exam to meet the basic eligibility and selection requirements. '

For M.Tech admissions at GCT Coimbatore, you'll need a qualifying GATE score, with the minimum qualifying marks ranging from approximately 25 to 30 marks out of 100 for general category students, cutoff generally changes every year there is no fixed cutoff for any College it depend on various factors and according it is decided you may check it with the new trending according

IIT Bombay offers admission to various PG courses on the various exams. MSc course is offered through IIT JAM. For the General All India category students, the last round closing ranks were between 17 and 40.
IIT Bombay GATE COAP cutoff 2024 were between scores 325 and 650, for the General AI category candidates.
For admission to MBA, candidate must have a valid score in CAT. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff sores for the same was 90.

The following documents are required for attending GATE counselling or for registration-
- Provisional seat allotment letter.
- Self-Attested Copy of GATE Score Card (2025 or 2023 or 2024)
- Photo ID proof.
- The original birth certificate was issued by the competent authority, and the Class X (High School) Board Certificate was used as proof of date of birth.
- Class 12 marks sheet.
- Marks sheet of qualifying examination (all semesters).
- Degree/Provisional Certificate
- Category certificate (if applicable).
- Three Passport size coloured photograph
- Seat acceptance fee proof.
- Printout of the Registration form & locked choices.
- Migration Certificate

Yes, it is possible to get M.Tech admissions with low GATE scores. However, it depends on certain factors, such as category, low cutoff drops in spot-counselling rounds. If you are aiming for NITs, then newly established NITs can be a good option.

There are two types of GATE counselling that offer admission to M.Tech courses and programmes -
- COAP - it is a portal through which that offers M.Tech admission at IITs and IISc Bangalore
- CCMT - is a portal through which candidates have to register for M.Tech admission at NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
The COAP GATE 2025 registrations for choice filling and selection starts from May 17. On the other hand, the GATE CCMT 2025 dates will be announced soon.
