No it is not all mandatory to take a joint M.Sc PhD after qualifying for IIT JAM. Although many students choose this, you can just apply for M.Sc now and if you feel apply for PhD later.
For GATE also the similar thing is followed.

Yes, it is possible to aim M.Tech course with 575 score in GATE COAP. IISc Bangalore GATE cutoff 2025 has released its M.Tech cutoff for Round 1 seat allotment. Further, the cutoff scores closed between 400 and 732, for the General AI category candidates. Some of the top specialisations available at 575 score are M.Tech. in Smart Manufacturing, M.Tech. in Smart Mobility and Logistics Systems and M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Candidates can join SOIS without GATE. Admission process for the M.Tech course at SOIS Karnataka is entrance based and candidates are requried to appear for entrance exams such as Karnataka PGCET and MET. Candidates are requried to fill out the application form for these entrance tests seperately. Even though GATE is a widely accepted exam for M.Tech it is not accepted for admission to the talked about institute.

No, it is not mandatory to update or provide all GATE scores during the COAP registration. Candidates must choose their best valid GATE scores to secure a seat in the participating colleges. The COAP registrations has started and the last date to register for Round I is May 20 (9:00 am). Candidates must visit the website to complete the registration as soon as possible. The GATE COAP Round II registration is scheduled from May 23 to May 26.

If we go with the past years' trend, the expected GATE cutoff for the General AI category candidates can stood between 350 and 450 for the related courses for the admission to IIITM Gwalior.

Considering the IIITM Gwalior GATE cutoff 2024, the score for M.Tech. in Cyber Security and Cyber laws stood at 422 for the General AI category candidates. To avail the same course, the needed score for OBC AI category candidates stood at 371. To know more, candidates can click here:
