While a GPA of 3.7 is considered as a fairly high GPA, it is not an only factor that will gaurantee admission in the Georgia Institute of Technology. The Georgia Institute of Technology is considered a prestigious university and take admissions very seriously and is very selective with an acceptance rate of roughly 16%. As per the official data, the average GPA of the current class was 3.70. The minimum GPA requirement for a lot of programs is 3.0 out of 4.0. No, Georgia Institute of Tcehnology can not be considered as an Ivy league as it is not a part of the original Ivy league. However, keeping in mind the recent ranks the university has been gaining, Georgia Tech can be considered as a part of the "Public Ivies" or "New Ivies". As per the recent data, US news ranked Georgia Institute of Technology at the rank #33 among the best colleges listed.
