Goa Institute of Management considers CAT scores for admission to PGDM programme. However, CAT is not compulsory. Aspirants with MAT, XAT, CMAT or any other accepted entrance exam scores can also get admission in PGDM.

GIM Goa offers admission in FPM programme based on Statement of Purpose, CV, LOP, Research Proposal and past academic performance of candidates. The institute also conducts an interview round for final selection. Shortlisted aspirants need to pay the course fees to confirm their seat.

The selection is done in two rounds, namely the regular and the achiever's rounds. For the PGDM course, a small number of candidates is selected for an early interview in Goa. Aspirants eligible for the achiever’s round can apply for ACCESS scholarships. Admission to PGDM course is based on XAT, CAT, CMAT, GMAT scores followed by face-to-face evaluation and profile assessment index. For PGDM BDA, aspirants must also qualify GIM Analytics Aptitude Test (GAAT) for admission.
