The hostel fees at the Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology are very less, i.e, only around INR 60 per month. This fee includes the electricity charges. However, the student will need to pay separate charges for the mess. There are limited seats available at the hostel.

Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology offers only BTech and MTech courses. Admission to MTch courses is not based on the scores obtained in any entrance exam. Admission to BTech courses at the college is based on the scores obtained in the WBJEE exam. The cutoff rank required in 2024 varied from 4749 to 8139, depending on the specialisations in BTech in which the student is interested.

Direct admission to the Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology is not usually available. Admission to B.Tech programs is mostly through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) on the basis of merit and eligibility. But if there are some vacant seats after the principal counseling rounds, the college can hold decentralized counseling for direct admission, but only for candidates who are domiciled in West Bengal with a valid WBJEE rank. Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology does not provide a 100% scholarship to all students. The college offers various scholarships, including the AICTE Saksham, Pragati, and Swanath schemes that provide a maximum of INR 50,000 annually, and the AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT). A scholarship of INR 12,400 is provided each month for deserving postgraduate students. These scholarships are need- and merit-based, and the students have to fulfill certain eligibility criteria, e.g., income limits of the family or being differently-abled, to become eligible. There is no provision for a full tuition waiver for all students.
