Direct admission to Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari is generally not available through a management quota. The college primarily admits students based on their performance in the Maharashtra CET (MHT-CET) or JEE Main exam, followed by the centralized admission process (CAP). However, candidates who do not meet the cutoff through the CAP process may be considered for vacant seats through the Institute-Level Quota in some cases.

Admission to the Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari, is not difficult, but it does depend on entrance exam scores. The college participates in the centralised admission process (CAP) through Maharashtra's Common Entrance Test (CET) or JEE. The cutoffs vary by branch, with higher demand for popular streams like Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering. For instance, the cutoff for Computer Science in previous years was around 90. However, as it is a government college, the fees are comparatively lower, and scholarships are available for eligible students.

To the point, the Avasari government-run engineering schools like Engineering and Research also offer scholarships like the EBC (Economically Backward Class) Scholarship, GOI Scholarships for SC/ST/OBC applicants, merit-based scholarships, as well as minority and state-sponsored scholarships for any eligible student. They are very helpful to financially weak people as well as sending positive messages on merit. Students can apply through government portals or the college administration.

In fact, the fee structure for B.Tech at Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari stands cheaper than the private schools. The fees would be about INR 25,000 per annum for general category students. For those belonging to the reserved categories, such fees are considerably lower - about INR 1,000 to INR 5,000. Furthermore, scholarships from both state and other government services are available for economically weaker students. Most would find the fees so low that they would not go in for student loans.
