The minimum eligibility is that the students are required to complete the 10+2 level with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the related field from a recognized board. For admission to B.Tech. and B.E,  students are required to obtain valid marks in JEE Main or GUJCET.

The fee structure for B.Tech courses varies according to the stream chosen. The university offers 59 specializations in B.Tech. A total number of 3826 are offered for B.Tech courses. The fee range starts from INR 6,000 and can go up to 3.1 Lakhs for the whole course. According to reports, placements at Gujrat Technological University are good. The University aims to provide 100% placement support. In 2021, the median package was comparatively higher and the amount stood at INR 6 LPA. The median package offered to MBA students during GTU placements in 2022 was INR 5.7 LPA. Infosys, TCS, HCL Tech, and Tatva Soft are among the top recruiters.
