GTU offers admission through online mode. Students willing to get admission in any course at GTU should visit the official website of the institute. The university grants admission on the basis of merit & entrance both. Some national-level examinations are accepted by the university for admission to a few courses such as GATE, CMAT, JEE Main etc. 

UG offers various courses including B.E, B.Tech, and B.Pharma. To be eligible, students need to complete 10+2 level with at least 50% marks from a recognised board and qualify JEE Main or GUJCET.

The PG domain requires a Bachelor's degree with minimum percentage and admission is based on entrance test marks, with merit-based admission for some courses.

For the Doctoral courses, the institute offers PhD, M.Phil, Pharm.D courses in multiple specialisations. For being eligible to pursue these courses candidates are required to complete their PG courses in the related field from a recognised university. The admission will be given only if the students have secured a valid score in NET/ GSET.

Apart from these courses, the institute has a great number of Certificate & Diploma courses to offer. The admission will be given on the basis of secured merit in the past qualifying examination. 

Focus on your academics and try to score higher CGPA Grades in your initial years, so that you have to worry less in your later years. Don't ever get influenced by those people who say marks is not important, marks shows your enriching attitude, it shows your growth and placement is decided upon that basis majorly. Don't remain an introvert in your college, try to talk to as many people and check with whom you vibe better and join atleast 2 clubs to increase your network and increase your excitement or indulgement into college activities otherwise will feel left out. 

Most important tips: 

Never compare yourself with other students. Believe that you are best. Keep mind fresh and happy while coming in the college. Never share your family problems with your friends.

There is a Foreign Students Cell that facilitates the admission of foreign students at GTU. They should apply with application form available on GTU website alongwith copy of necessary educational and other documents. The application form fee of Rs. 500 is non-refundable. The admission department checks the eligibility and if found eligible, the respective students are given the provisional admission letter. On this basis, they must contact Indian Embassy/High Commission for student visa/ research visa for admission into GTU. Affter getting visa, they must report to the GTU campus with all original official transcripts, degrees, documents relating to educational background and medical fitness certificate.
