Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) is generally a Tier 2 engineering college in India. Although it is a good college in Kolkata and provides good quality education, it does not hold the same national prestige as Tier 1 institutions such as IITs or NITs. While having strong academic programs, accomplished teaching faculty, and industry liaison connections in fields of engineering and technology are strengths for GNIT, the institutes at the very top provide much better reputability, along with excellent infrastructure support.
