NLU Shimla offers admission to BA LLB (Hons) course based on merit in the CLAT exam. Candidates who have passed Class 12 with a 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST) can apply. The eligible candidates can go to the CLAT official website to register and apply for the exam. After the entrance test, the cutoff marks are announced based on which students need to participate in CLAT counselling. After seat allotment, the candidates need to report at HPNLU Shimla campus and pay admission fee for seat confirmation.

The Himachal Pradesh National Law University may have reserved seats for candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other such categories. For admission under these categories, candidates are required to submit the relevant documents. Hence, the caste certificate issued by a competent authority can be asked for verification.
NLU Shimla has 120 seats for its BA LLB (Hons) programme. The seat allotment is done based on CLAT scores. It must be noted that the mentioned seat intake is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative.

No, admission to law courses at NLUs is through CLAT only. The course aspirants must appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and secure a good score. It is a pen and paper based test. There is no other provision for admission. Students who meet the cutoff mark have to take part in CLAT counselling for seat confirmation as well.

The LLM course fee at both the universities is almost the same. NLU Shimla LLM tuition fee is INR 1.2 lakh. While the course tuition fee of NLU Delhi is INR 1.4 lakh. Hence, candidates can consider getting in either of the universities, if compared based on course tuition fee. It is also informed that the fee mentioned here is taken from the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative.

HPNLU CLAT 2024 cutoff is out. The CLAT last round closing rank was 2132 in 2024 for the LLM programme. This cutoff was for candidates belonging to the General All-India category. The cutoff for NLU Shimla LLM course in 2023 and 2022 is:
