No, candidates are not allowed to get admission into the BSc course without valid IMUCET scores. According to the official website of the college and other official sources, IMUCET scores are mandatory to get admission into Bachelors in Science courses at HIMT Chennai. Moreover, the college does not accept any other entrance examination score apart from IMU CET.

Candidates who want to take admission to a BSc in HIMT College first need to appear in the IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test). It is a national-level common entrance test for admission to BSc and various courses at IMU campuses and affiliated colleges to the Indian Maritime University.

The eligibility requirements and admission process of both HIMT Chennai Kolkata and Coimbatore Marine College are almost the same. The basic requirement that candidates must fulfill is that applicants must complete their Class 12 from the PCM stream with an aggregate of 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English in Class 10 & 12, and the IMUCET 2025 rank is mandatory.
