HNLU Raipur accepts the scores of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for admission to BA LLB (Hons) programme. CLAT is a national level entrance exam for law courses, conducted by the 18 participating law schools in rotation. The test consists of objective type questions and carries a maximum of 200 marks. The candidates who wish to apply for HNLU Raipur must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) and must appear for CLAT. The admission is based on applicant's rank in CLAT, and the availability of seats under various categories.

1- Ranking: According to the NIRF ranking of law colleges in India, Nalsar University of Law was ranked 3rd in 2020, while HNLU Raipur was ranked 17th.

The cutoff for BA LLB (Hons) was concluded after Round 4 and the closing rank for General All India category student was 805. The overall cutoff for CLAT is 733 rank .

The overall placements at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) Raipur are great, with around 78 students placed in 2023. The minimum eligibility criteria for LL.M at HNLU Raipur are as follows:

  • You should have passed the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or an equivalent degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in case of general category and 45% in case of SC/ST category .
  • You should appear for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and obtain a valid score in it .
  • You should apply for admission to HNLU Raipur through the CLAT online counselling process .
  • You should meet the reservation and horizontal quota criteria as per the HNLU Raipur website.

As you can see, your Class 12th percentage does not matter for LL.M admission, but your LL.
