NALSAR Highlights 2025
The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, also known as NALSAR University of Law is a National Law University located in Secunderabad, Hyderabad. The University was established in 1998 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. It is popularly known as NALSAR or NALSAR Hyderabad and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with an “A” grade with a score of 3.60 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to NIRF 2024 rankings, NALSAR has been ranked 3rd in the law category.
The University offers full-time UG, PG, doctorate, and diploma programmes in various fields of Law and Management. NALSAR University of Law prepares LLM cutoff list as per the applicants CLAT scores. In 2024, the closing rank for LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law was 298 for the General-All India category. The NALSAR Hyderabad BA LLB (Hons) cutoff 2025 has been released for the first round. NALSAR admission to the law courses is based on candidates' performance in the CLAT entrance exam, followed by counselling rounds. For the OBC category students in the All India quota, the CLAT Round 1 cutoff 2025 stood at 1219. For the same category, the first round closing rank was 1532 in the home state quota. NALSAR University of Law does not offer a free seat. However, there is concession in the fee for reserved category candidates. These aspirants can avail the scholarship benefits for concession. The university offers scholarships to meritorious or financially-weak students. To avail the benefit, aspirants must fulfil the criteria specified by the university.
Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC and ST categories) to apply for NALSAR University of Law BA LLB (Hons) programme. There is no age limit specified by the university for admission. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. Besides, aspirants must have qualified CLAT.
NALSAr University of Law offers admission to LLM programme through CLAT score. To get admission to the LLM programme, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
1. LLB or any equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (For candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI category),
or
2. LLB or any equivalent degree with a minimum of 45% aggregate (For candidates belonging to SC/ ST category).
Note: There is no age limit criteria for admission to LLM programme. Provided, if two candidates score's same marks in CLAT paper, then the candidate of higher age is given preference at the time of admission to the university.
NALSAR admission to Law courses including, B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law is based on CLAT cutoff. NALSAR CLAT cutoff 2024 for the Round 3 Seat Allotment has not been released by the CNLU the General category All India candidates for both the courses. NALSAR Scholarships 2025
The University provides two scholarships which include means based scholarships and means-cum-merit based scholarships. These two scholarships are called as Scedule I and Schedule II scholarships. Interested candidates need to fill out an application form to apply for these scholarships. These scholarships or fee concession is offered to BA LLB (Hons), LLM and MBA programme. The scholarships are given under three categories, namely fee concession, scholarship and loan support programme. The amount of the scholarship depends upon the annual family income and the marks obtained by the students. Details regarding these scholarships are mentioned below:

Aspirants who have passed a three-year LLB course with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) can apply for NALSAR University of Law LLM programme.
