Hospitality Management

MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a full-time course for a duration of 2 years. Candidates need to hold a Bachelor's degree with an aggregate of 50% in any relevant discipline from a recognized university listed under the UGC/AIU, in addition to passing a common entrance examination conducted by the university. The programme is covered in 2 or 4 semesters which is based on the norms of the respective institutions, with some offering the programme on part-time and correspondence basis too. The average programme fee ranges between INR 70,000 to INR 4 Lacs, which differ from institution to institution. Candidates are required to pass the (CAT). However, the entrance examinations conducted by other institutions may differ. The entrance exam is followed by GD and PI. Computing the marks obtained in the entrance examination, GD/PI along with the percentage obtained in the Bachelor's degree, the admission of the candidate is finalized. MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management is an apt choice for candidates who wish to go into Research work and who hold the dynamism to make their career in Hospitality and Travel sectors. The course provides the students the advantage of showcasing their leadership skills and competencies required to deliver in various fields of Tourism and hospitality sectors. It prepares you in various subjects like costing, budgeting, International finance, Capital Management etc. After studying these subjects a person become specialized in Financial Management. Human Resource (HR) - This includes diversity, mergers and acquisitions, labor markets and emerging economics and international leadership. Individuals with good communication skills, a charismatic personality, and confidence may opt for this course.

Hotel Management:
Let's say, I am a hotel manager. Every day, when I wake up my early schedule might look like this;
Take a tour of the property. Attend/coordinate meetings with the Holds. Review important documents & hotel performance data. Check key statistics like occupancy data, daily audit reports of the revenues, etc.
Returning important phone calls & reply to Emails. Assist in troubleshooting various inter-departmental issues as well any other general issues. Up to that point, am only dealing the hotels operations part by connecting the dots & making sure everything is working fine. That, in my opinion, is Hotel Management
Hospitality:
In the afternoon/ evening, I have to create some time to engage in meaningful conversations with hotels guest for a couple of hours. This is done with two key objectives;
-Getting direct feedback from customers.
-Adding a personal touch to the overall hotel services.
In addition to that, most of the time, while I am walking around the lobby and other public areas of the hotel, I have to interact with employees and guests. That friendly and generous interaction, and entertainment of guests, visitors, or employees is Hospitality.
