For MA admissions in India, you'll need to have a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university; that's the one prime condition. After this, there are percentage-related requirements, which can vary depending on the colleges. Also, there can be 5% relaxation for other categories like SC/ST/OBC. Moreover, most colleges accept or conduct entrance exams for MA-level courses.

An MA is a PG-level degree course that you cannot pursue after Class 12. You'll need to obtain a Bachelor level degree (BA, for instance) to be eligible for an MA program. Yes, there is indeed a difference between the two. BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication) basically covers a broader spectrum of media that also includes journalism, advertising, public relations, filmmaking, and digital media.

On the other hand, BA in Journalism & Mass Communication gives more focus to reporting, news production, and editorial work. BMC is slightly more practical and versatile, while BA Journalism & Mass Communication is journalism-centric.
