Yes. Commerce students can study a course in social sciences at UG level. Different colleges have different criteria so one need to fulfill it. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board. Some colleges also specify that candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at the 10+2 level.

The universities need approval from University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as from Distance Education Bureau (DEB). Without the approval of UGC-DEB, the degrees offered by any college will be invalid.
