Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised state or central board with at least 50% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) marks. He/She shall not be having any Supplementary or Compartment in any of the subject/Subjects at 10+2 or equivalent level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions. Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission. In case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits applicable to them. Institutes offering admissions through Common Entrance Test go for scores of JNUEE BHUEE etc. To get admissions in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks. The eligibility criteria mentioned above are common to most of the universities and colleges across the country that are offering this course to the students.

UGC NET Exam is conducted two times a year in the month of June and December usually. The UGC NET Exam mainly is conducted in the two phases UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2. The UGC NET Paper 1 is conducted in the General Aptitude test whereas the UGC NET Paper 2 is conducted in the Subject you have completed the Masters programme. There are more than 80 subjects in the UGC NET Exam and Social Work is one of the important subjects of UGC NET Exam. The UGC NET Paper 1 has 50 questions to be attempted in 60 minutes. The questions in the UGC NET Paper 1-https://scoop.eduncle.com/ugc-net-general-paper-research-and-teaching-aptitude is conducted in the General Aptitude test whereas the UGC NET Paper 2 is conducted in the Subject you have completed the Masters degree. Total no of Questions in the UGC NET Exam Paper 2 is 100 whereas the Paper is to be completed in 120 minutes. The UGC NET Exam has the Cutoff marks that is different for each subject.
