IISWBM has designed a comprehensive admission process for the MSW course. The admission criteria help the institute in ensuring the admission of the right candidate. To begin, students must visit the institute's online admission portal to apply for the programme. The form can also be obtained from the admissions office.

Once the application stage is completed, the institute shortlists students who meet the eligibility requirements. Next, the selection committee of the institute conducts a written test. Students who pass the test are further evaluated via GD & PI rounds. Those who pass both the rounds and are selected for admission must report to the institute for document verification and payment of fees.

The JKLU PhD course structure includes three phases. The first phase is Pre-Phd Coursework which lasts 6 to 12 months. During the Pre-PhD Coursework, candidates must complete a minimum number of credits based on their qualifications:

• MPhil/MTech – 12 credits
• MSc, MA, MBA – 12 credits
• BTech – 16 credits

The coursework includes a mix of lecture-based learning, laboratory research, design projects, self-study, and minor research work. It is followed by the second phase, i.e. Research Proposal (Post Coursework). Upon completing the coursework, scholars must submit a research proposal within 3 months. The proposal is evaluated by concerned autorities before approval.

The final phase commences after the Research Proposal has been approved. In this phase, scholars are required to conduct research in their chosen area and present their research progress every six months until their thesis is finally submitted.

JK Lakshmipat University PhD admission is subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria specified by the university. Candidate who fulfil the below-given eligibility requirements and have the necessary documents supporting their eligibility can apply for admission:

• At least 55% or 5.5/10 CGPA in the master's degree or equivalent in relevant subject, OR
• At least 75% or 7.5/10 CGPA in BTech/BE, OR
• At least 60% or 6/10 CGPA in BTech/BE with over 10 years of relevant industry experience

Further, the university may provide a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks or a 0.5 CGPA adjustment to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC, differently-abled, and EWS categories. Candidates currently in the final year of their qualifying degree may also apply for provisional admission.
