Candidates will be required to send the documents mentioned below in digital form to IIM Shillong alongside their PhD admission form:

  • Class 10th and Class 12th marksheet and passing certificate
  • UG course passing degree as well as marksheet
  • PG course passing degree as well as marksheet
  • Work experience certificate
  • Research proposal
  • Entrance exam scorecard
  • ID and address proof
  • Scanned image of candidate's signature

The only mode of PhD admissions mentioned on the website of IIM Shillong is online mode.

Since the accepted entrance exams for IIM Shillong PhD admissions cannot be applied for in offline mode, candidates can assume that there is no offline mode of application for IIM Shillong PhD admission.

IIM Shillong will conducts the interview round for PhD admissions in the month of April. The interview rounds take place varies as per the city. It usually starts in the month of Febuary and goes on till April. Candidates whose name appear on the list are the selected candidates for the personal interview round for PhD admissions.

The last date to apply for IIM Shillong PhD admissions is 24th March in the academic year 2026. The registration window for IIM Shillong PhD courses was opened in the month of November 2025. 

Hence, candidates who have received their scorecards for one of the accepted entrance exams can apply by going to the website of IIM Shillong.

No, candidates who have a work experience of over 10 years are not required to appear for any entrancee exams to qualify for IIM Shillong PhD admissions. However, such candidates are required to produce two reference letters from senior leadership for the experience to qualify for IIM Shillong PhD admissions.

No, the UGC-NET is not a mandatory entrance exam for IIM Shillong PhD admissions. Aside from UGC-NET, candidates can also appear for the CAT, GRE, GATE or GMAT to qualify for PhD admissions as well. 

Candidates who fulfill certain requirements are not required to appear for any of the aforementioned entrance exams to qualify for IIM Shillong PhD admissions.

No, candidates who choose to exit the BA LLB (hons) course at Chanakya National Law University Patna before 5 years are not awarded any degree. The BA LLB (hons) course is an integrated course instead of a dual degree course.

Thus, candidates need to complete the five years at Chanakya National Law University Patna to gain the BA LLB (hons) degree.
