However, the dates have not yet been released. The IGNOU BEd Admit Card 2026 is expected to be released around March 2026, a few weeks before the exam.

The candidate need to appear for IGNOU BEd entrance test and clear it to get admission in this course. The application form is released around January and the exam is conducted in March.

IGNOU prescribes the exam pattern of its BEd entrance exam and mentions it in its official notification. As per the exam pattern, the test is of two-hour duration exam. The exam is conducted in offline mode. The question paper includes 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark. Questions in the IGNOU BEd entrance test will be asked in both Hindi and English.

Indira Gandhi National Open University prescribes the IGNOU BEd Entrance exam pattern with 100 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
- Part A: General English Comprehension (10 Qs).
- Part B: Logical & Analytical Reasoning (20 Qs), Educational & General Awareness (25 Qs), Teaching-Learning & the School (25 Qs).

IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam include 100 MCQs of 100 marks that candidates need to complete in two hours. Candidates will get +1 for every correct answer. There is no negative marking for an incorrect or a question left unanswered in the exam.

The IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam is conducted once in a year preferably in March. Indira Gandhi National Open University will release the IGNOU BEd Entrance Exam Application form in January 2026. Direct link will be provided at Shiksha.com.

The IGNOU BEd counselling begins after the IGNOU BEd entrance exam result declaration. The merit list is released based on which the candidates had to report with the required documents and fees at the chosen centre.

Yes, an IGNOU BEd degree is fully valid for government jobs in India, as IGNOU is a Central University recognised by UGC and DEB, and its degrees are treated as equivalent to regular degrees for all major government exams (UPSC, SSC, Teaching, etc.), provided you meet specific subject/marks criteria and NCTE guidelines.
