IIIT M.Tech seat allocation process varies for full-time and part-time courses. For full-time courses, the seat allocation process is carried out via the CCMT counselling process. Thus, for admission to the aforementioned courses, students must appear for the GATE exam followed by the CCMT counselling. For admission to part-time courses, students are required to fill out an institute level course. After that, shortlisted students are further evaluated based on their performance in the interview round.

Once students have been allocated a IIIT Bhopal M.Tech seat via CCMT counselling, they must complete the online documentation process. In this process, students are required to submit scanned copies of the following documents:
