Hello Kal, Unfortunately at such a rank of 98500 rank in JEE Mains Entrance exam you cannot get admission into reputed Engineering Institutions like NITs and IITs (specially if you are from general category, as then the chances are nill ).

Candidates must get 75% in Class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile in order to be eligible for JOSAA counselling. The qualifying percentage is 65% for candidates who identify as SC, ST, or PwD. (to be admitted to IITs). The ability to participate in JoSAA 2024 counselling will be extended to all applicants who meet the requirements for JEE Advanced 2024. The dates for the JoSAA 2024 registration period have been released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). On June 10, 2024, the JoSAA 2024 registration period opened. As per last update, IIIT Hyderabad is expected to conduct BTech counselling based on JEE Main scores upto Round 4 or 5 . After IIITH UGEE online exam, you will have to clear the interview round if shortlisted. You apply for the examination and appear for the computer based examination IIITH UGEE. The exam itself has two sections, SUPR and REAP. The exact number of rounds can vary from year to year and is influenced by factors such as the number of available seats, the total number of applicants, and the acceptance rate after each round. Typically, there are at least two to three rounds of counseling.

It is unlikely that you will get a seat in any of the NITs, IITs or GFTIs with a CRL rank of 196580 and an EWS rank of 31691. The cutoff ranks for these institutes are typically much lower than your current rank. However, there are a few factors that could improve your chances of admission.
* *Your caste/category:* If you belong to a reserved category, you will have a higher chance of getting a seat than if you are from a general category.
* *Your performance in JEE Advanced:* If you perform well in JEE Advanced, you may be eligible for a seat in an IIT or NIT through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) counseling.
