Hi Smit, Just like the way every student from every other undergraduate domain gets into Iims - by writing CAT and acing it. As a B.Com student, I believe that you must be thinking that you are at a disadvantage because you are up against a lot of engineers in the country. So Yes, If you score more than 90 percentile - you can get admission in IIM even with Commerce background. Although 85 percentile might get chance in the last cutoff - but you should target for 90 plus to be sure of getting through.

The eligibility criteria of IIM-A for PGP programme is a Bachelor degree with minimum 50% of marks for general and 45% for reserved categories from a recognised University. Selection process : The selection of the candidates for admission in PGP programme at IIMA is a two-step process. The candidates are short-listed for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score. The CAT sectional cutoff is 70 for each section, while the overall cutoff is 80 percentile for general candidate. According to the IIM admission criteria 2019-21, candidates appearing for CAT 2018 must have a Bachelors Degree with at least 50 per cent marks (for General category) and 45 Percent (for SC, ST and PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university.Candidates appearing for their final year Bachelors degree examination may also apply.
It is important to know that the admission criteria of each IIM is independent to mandate their own eligibility criteria including CAT score, academic cut-offs, past academic performance, relevant work experience etc.

Hi, Work experience is not mandatory, though 2-3 years would be ideal. A CAT score of 99.7+ percentile should be safe enough to get an interview call. Good luck!

I would not say that having maths in +2 is compulsory for attempting CAT. I would rate maths in CAT as a bit advanced version of what you have learned till 10th. If you are aiming for the top colleges, then yes it would be a problem. But for colleges that ask for cutoffs in the range of 50-70, then maths wouldn't be a problem. Even performing average in maths could possibly get you to that score. But ensure that you are able to ace all other sections. If you want to get good score, I suggest you attend a few coaching classes. Brush up on the basics and practice hard.

Hey, basically the cutoff of CAT refers to the minimum marks or percentile a test taker must obtain in order to qualify for the next round of selection process. So,you need to go through the cut off.A good score in CAT is 90 percentile for which you will have to score more than 120 marks.

Hello,You need to score 99+ percentile to get a call from IIM a b and c for GDPI. You may get a call from IIM CAT 98 percentile but for IIM a, and b you need to have 99+ percentile.
