The qualifying CAT cutoff of IIM Jammu is the minimum percentile that candidates must score to be eligible for an interview call for WAT/GD-PI, while the final CAT cutoff is the percentile that candidates must obtain to participate in the WAT/GD-PI round. The former is released with the admission criteria of the institute before the CAT exam while the latter is released after the declaration of CAT result. A few more differences between the two are tabulated below:
Qualifying CAT cutoffs | Final CAT cutoffs |
|---|---|
Meeting the qualifying cutoff does not confirm that the student is selected for the WAT/GD-PI | Meeting the final CAT cut off does not confrim students' admission at the institute |
The qualifying CAT cut off is fixed before the announcement of CAT result. | The final cut off is determined after the declaration of CAT result. |
The qualifying CAT cut off percentiles are announced by every IIM in the notification of admission criteria and selection process for that academic year. | The final cutoff is not announced publicly and is only acessible to students who participated in the CAT exam. |
