The minimum marks or CAT cut off to appear for IIM selection round is different for every institute. Tier 1 colleges select candidates with CAT score above 95 percentile, Tier 2 colleges select candidates with score between 80-90 percentile and Tier 2 colleges select candidates with score lower than 80 percentile.

No, the IIMs are autonomous institutes funded by the Central Government. The government has no say in day-to-day functioning of the IIMs. The institutes have the right to decide the fees, infrastructure, course, pedagogy and other such aspects for the betterment of their students. The government provides them land to set up new campuses.

Admission criteria to IIM Jammu is both, merit and entrance based. The eligibility criteria to get into IIMJ programmes is graduation in any discipline (this may vary from course to course) with a minimum aggregate of 50%, along with entrance exams. For UG courses, candidates need to acquire a minimum aggregate of 60% in Class 12, along with valid entrance scores.
