Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aizawl accepts IIMC entrance test scores for admission to PG Diploma courses. As per the IIMC 2024 cutoff for Round 3, the closing ranks for PGDM courses varied between 965 and 1006, wherein Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (English) stands out as the most competitive course. For Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Media, the Round 3 closing rank was 1006 forbthe General AI category students. So, considering the latest round cutoff, candidates seeking admission to IIMC Aizawl must secure a rank upto 1006 for PGDM admission.

The age limit for the IIMC Entrance Exam depends on the candidate's category:
- General Category: Candidates must be born on or after August 1, 1998 (maximum 25 years old as of August 1, 2024).
- OBC Category: Candidates must be born on or after August 1, 1995 (maximum 28 years old as of August 1, 2024).
- SC/ST Category & Physically Disabled: Candidates must be born on or after August 1, 1993 (maximum 30 years old as of August 1, 2024).

The IIMC entrance exam is conducted by Indian Insititute of Mass Communication for admission to PG Diploma in Journalism in 4 regional languages (Urdu, Marathi, Odia, and Malayalam). The institute accepts CUET PG scores for other mass communication courses offered at IIMC campuses. The CUET PG entrance exam is conducted by National Testing Agency.

3 months is not sufficient, but, with efficient planning candidates can score well in entrance examination of Indian Institute of Mass Communication. To prepare for IIMC Entrance Exam students have to study regularly and understand all important topics. Candidates must give special focus on solving previous year question papers and practice sample papers on a daily basis.

The IIMC entrance exam cut off is different for different categories, including General, OBC, SC, and ST. The IIMC cut off marks for SC and ST categories is usually lower than the cut off for General category.
