Yes, admission in IISER Thiruvanthapuram is based on both entrance and merit-based. Applicants are admitted to the BS-MS programme through Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), JEE Advanced and SCB channels. You also need to score minimum 60% in 12th Science for resereved category. So, if you fulfill it you will easily get admission.

For placements of this institute, students are concerned as it is in decreasing rate. In 2021, INR15-18 Lacs was the the highest package and in 2022 median package was 8 Lacs. As per the NIRF report 2023, the median package offered to B.Sc students was INR 8 LPA. A fluctuating trend was observed in the median package offered in the last three years.
