The number of seats available is directly propotionate to Cutoff ranks. The trend observed indicates that as the number of students passing the exam increases, the closing ranks also increase. IIT Goa offers BTech courses in four branches viz., CSE, EE, ME and MnC. Deciding the best branch among all the branches depends on various factors that are important to candidate. Some of the important point to consider while deciding the best branch of IIT Goa are mentioned-below:

1. Placements Opportunities: The common perception among students is that CSE has good placements among all the branches of Engineering. Yes, IIT Goa has a dedicated student counselling and support centre. It came into existence to ensure the mental and emotional well-being of the students. To get admission in BTech at IIT Goa, students go through rigorous study sessions for clearing JEE Advanced. The studies get more serious at the college with students aiming to land in their dream jobs.

IIT Goa has a licensed and experienced counsellor, who addresses students common problems, such as academic stress, anxiety, personal relationships, etc. The counsellor conduct individual counselling sessions, workshops, and group therapy as well. As per the IIT Goa official website, the counsellor is available at the campus on every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, between 3:30 pm to 7 pm. Thus, the BTech students get health/counselling services at IIT Goa.
