The answer to this question is rather complicated, but we'll try to break it down as best we can. First of all, you should know that there are a lot of good schools in India that offer engineering programs. There are hundreds of them! If you're planning on going to one of those schools, then that may be your best bet it's hard to know where you'll end up if you don't have a specific goal set. Hello Tanmay Jain, rather than talking about chemical engineering in IIT Patna, it's best if we talk of it on its own merits. Chemical engineering has great role to play in the years to come. As crude oil is nearing exhaustion coupled with CO2 worries due to burning of fossil fuel, research is going on in full swing around the world to find alternative sources. Solar energy, Hydrogen are two prominent areas. Here chemical engineering professionals have to play big role in making products cheaper and safe. IIIT-Gwalior is premiere institute for CSE. IITs are best institutes for IT and CSE branch. So, if you are looking for Computer Science discipline than IIIT is best.

I will advice you to go for IIT Patna because no matter what it is IIT. It has got that big name tag on it and hence the placement rate and study quality will also be good in my opinion.
