With a 5000 rank in JEE Advanced under the SC category, you have a good chance of getting into an IIT, though the branch and IIT you get will depend on cutoff trends for that year.

Possible IITs & Branches

Top IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Madras, Kharagpur, Roorkee): Less likely for core branches like CSE, ECE, or Mechanical but possible for newer branches like Metallurgy, Environmental, or Civil.

Mid-tier IITs (IIT BHU, IIT Guwahati, IIT Dhanbad, IIT Mandi, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Ropar, etc.): Higher chances of getting good branches like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical.

With a rank 18358 in JEE advanced getting a seat in the older IITs can be tough but you could have a possibility in newer IITs or specific branches with low cutoff trends like metallurgy, mining, or environmental engineering. You can also consider IIT preparatory courses or consider IISER IIST and RGIPT as options. Looking at JOSAA counseling cutoff trends of the past years will provide you with a better indication of your prospects.

Having a mark of 75 marks in JEE Mains from the OBC category, it is highly unlikely that you can get admission in an IIT. The expected cutoff for the OBC students in JEE Mains 2025 will be about 79.67 percentile. Considering your mark, you are likely not to achieve the required benchmark to apply for JEE Advanced, which is a prerequisite to apply for admission in IIT. But you can try out other engineering colleges, NITs and private colleges, that have lower cutoffs and might be able to provide programs on your rank.

The Indian Institute of Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) released the GATE 2025 provisional answer key along with GATE master question paper and response sheet on Feb 27, 2025. Candidates can access the answer key and question paper using their enrollment ID and password through the GOAPS portal. The last date to raise objection was March 1, 2025.
