IITK has better academics than other IITs. Also the faculties are better here and if you are interested in research work then IITK is best place for you.

The admission to IIT architectural courses is through the JEE Advanced not JEE Mains. The people who qualify for JEE Advanced have the option to appear for a separate architectural aptitude test conducted after the announcement of the JEE Advanced results based on which the allotment of seats is done there. Through JEE Mains paper 2 you can apply for other institutes like SPA, BIT Mesra etc for the architectural courses.

Hi Arjun
All courses are offered by IITs are mainly engineering. To get admission in IIT you need to through Engineering entrance examination with high score.
As you mentioned that your score is not up to the mark to have Science then I would suggest to think about other streams.
If you love Science and relating professions then along with your other stream you may go for IT professional courses.

If you want best decision making for your study days purchase a book wriiten by Arpit Aggarwal AIR 1 in the year 2012 .T

If your JEE Advanced rank fall under 10000 then only you can get an IIT. You have a good score in JEE Main so you can try in colleges which take admission on the basis of JEE Mains score.Your boards marks are poor which wont help you getting into a good NIT.
